Zambia National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council

Zambia's National HIV/AIDS/STI/TB Council, established through an Act of Parliament in 2002, is the country's coordinating body for the national response to HIV, AIDS, sexually transmitted infections and tuberculosis. The council guides planning, programming and resource allocation toward Zambia's goal of ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030, coordinating interventions across government sectors, implementing high-impact prevention strategies such as treatment, testing, male circumcision and condom programming, strengthening health systems and community engagement, and integrating HIV and AIDS considerations into education, social protection and workplace programs. It operates through theme groups and coordination structures built on partnerships with government ministries, civil society organizations and international partners, and its mandate follows the three ones principle of one national coordinating authority, one national strategic framework and one national monitoring and evaluation system.
