Alive and Thrive is a global nutrition initiative focused on improving maternal, infant, young child, and adolescent nutrition, established in 2008 to test whether high-impact infant and young child feeding interventions could be implemented at scale. Its first phase, run in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, and Vietnam through 2014, demonstrated rapid improvements in feeding practices, and the initiative has since expanded to more than fifteen countries and regional programs, managed by FHI Solutions and funded chiefly by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, integrating nutrition into health, food systems, education, and social protection programs.
