The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition is a nonprofit foundation based in Geneva, Switzerland, developed during the United Nations' 2002 Special Session of the General Assembly on Children. Supported by more than thirty donors and international partners, it works to improve the consumption of nutritious and safe food through initiatives including food fortification, support for small and medium food enterprises, crop biofortification and reduction of post-harvest losses, with particular attention to adolescent and child nutrition in countries with high rates of malnutrition across Africa and Asia.
