Colombia Programa Ampliado de Inmunizaciones

The Programa Ampliado de Inmunizaciones, Colombia's national immunization program known by the initials PAI, has operated since 1979 as a joint public health effort of the national government working with international organizations toward universal vaccination coverage. It targets children from birth through age five, women of reproductive age between ten and forty five, adults over sixty, fourth grade schoolgirls, and travelers to disease-endemic areas, offering vaccines and immunoglobulins free of charge against more than thirty diseases including polio, measles, tetanus, rubella, hepatitis B, whooping cough, diphtheria and tuberculosis. The program's stated goal is achieving and maintaining coverage above ninety five percent for every vaccine in its schedule.
