Kenya Division of National Malaria Programme

The Division of National Malaria Programme sits within Kenya's Ministry of Health, also referred to in earlier years as the Division of Malaria Control, and functions as the government body responsible for steering the country's malaria control and elimination work. The division publishes a quarterly Malaria Surveillance Bulletin that serves as a scorecard tracking progress toward the targets set out in Kenya's national malaria strategy, and its current framework, the Kenya Malaria Strategy 2023 to 2027, lays out the strategic direction for delivering malaria control and elimination interventions nationwide together with a dedicated monitoring and evaluation performance framework. The division coordinates the country's response to a disease that remains a leading public health burden in large parts of Kenya, working across prevention, case management and surveillance functions to reduce malaria illness and death and to move progressively from control toward elimination.
