Namibia National Strategic Framework for HIV and AIDS Response

Namibia's guiding strategic document for its multisectoral, decentralized national HIV response, periodically revised and reissued by the Namibian government to set the country's planning, programming, resourcing and implementation priorities against the epidemic. The current framework covers 2023/24 through 2027/28 and builds on an earlier framework that Namibian and UNAIDS assessments credit with remarkable progress toward the UNAIDS 95-95-95 testing and treatment targets, aiming this time for epidemic control by 2028 as a step toward ending AIDS as a public health threat by 2030. Framed by Namibia's Vision 2030 and its National Development Plan, the strategy targets the geographic areas and population groups carrying the country's highest HIV burden and epidemic hotspots for accelerated and intensified intervention, alongside supporting instruments such as a voluntary medical male circumcision strategic plan and national gender and social protection policies.
