The Global Financing Facility is an international development initiative supported by the World Bank, established at the Financing for Development Conference held in Addis Ababa in July 2015 by the United Nations and the World Bank. Its mission centers on combating poverty and inequity by advancing health and rights for women and children, with particular focus on maternal health spanning pregnancy through adolescence, and it works to help low and lower-middle income governments restructure their health and nutrition financing priorities in line with the third Sustainable Development Goal on good health and well-being.
