South Korea National Health Plan 2030

A long-term national health plan prepared by the South Korean government from 2017 and formally announced in December 2020, commonly known by its abbreviation HP2030. The plan organizes its work into six divisions and 28 topic areas backed by a stated investment of 2.5 trillion Korean won, with a central goal of extending the population's healthy life expectancy from 70.4 years, as measured in 2018, to 73.3 years by 2030. HP2030 also set out, for the first time in a South Korean national health plan, an explicit goal of improving health equity, aiming to calculate healthy life expectancy in a way that reflects the country's own circumstances and to narrow the gap in healthy life expectancy between income groups and between regions, positioning the plan as a sustained, whole-of-society effort toward universal improvement in health rather than a narrower disease-by-disease program.
