Sanitation Program

WASH United is an organization that initiated Menstrual Hygiene Day in 2014 to raise awareness and catalyze action on menstrual hygiene, a campaign observed annually on May 28 that has grown into a global movement. The organization develops the campaign's strategy, provides free advocacy and education materials including an education guide for group-based training on periods, offers capacity building, tracks results, and engages partners including UNICEF, the World Bank, governments, and nongovernmental organizations to strengthen the global menstrual hygiene ecosystem.
