The National AIDS/STD Programme (NASP) is Bangladesh's national HIV and sexually transmitted disease response body, operating as a wing of the Directorate General of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Established after the government's response to the country's first detected HIV case in 1989 through the National AIDS Committee, NASP coordinates HIV program activities with stakeholders and development partners nationwide, including HIV prevention programs reaching tens of thousands of people who inject drugs across multiple districts in partnership with civil society organizations.
