Bolivia's Programa Ampliado de Inmunizacion (PAI) is the national strategy for the prevention, surveillance and control of vaccine-preventable diseases, directed by the Ministry of Health and Sports and executed through the country's nine departmental health services, with priority given to children under five and other at-risk groups. The program has worked with the Pan American Health Organization and UNICEF on national evaluations and cold-chain modernization, renewing 87 percent of vaccine cold-chain equipment in health networks and municipal centers, and has been developing an expansion roadmap toward 2030.
