Cambodia's National Immunization Program, established by the Ministry of Health in 1986, has for decades protected children and pregnant women from vaccine-preventable diseases and shielded entire communities from outbreaks. The program has steadily expanded its routine schedule to include vaccines against tuberculosis, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, hepatitis B, Haemophilus influenzae type b, rotavirus, pneumococcal disease and human papillomavirus, integrating a new National Immunization Strategy 2021-2025 into the Ministry's overall health planning system for the first time and introducing the rotavirus vaccine nationwide in December 2025.
