Imagine No Malaria

Imagine No Malaria is a comprehensive anti-malaria campaign run by the United Methodist Church, chaired by Bishop Thomas Bickerton. The campaign set out to raise 75 million dollars to end preventable malaria deaths in Africa, with particular attention to children and mothers, working through four components: distributing bed nets and diagnostics for prevention, supporting treatment through more than 300 clinics and hospitals, training community health workers, and spreading awareness through radio communications. It partners with the United Nations Foundation, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the World Health Organization, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Red Crescent Society. By 2014 the campaign had raised more than 40 million dollars toward its goal, and it has distributed bed nets in communities including Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Nyadire in Zimbabwe.
