The Social Health Authority is a state corporation of the government of Kenya responsible for providing and managing public health insurance within the country. Its mandate is to provide accessible, affordable, sustainable and quality health insurance for Kenyan citizens and, where applicable, foreign residents. The Social Health Authority replaced the earlier National Health Insurance Fund following the Social Health Insurance Act, enacted on 22 November 2023, and began operations on 1 October 2024.
