Malaysia's National Immunisation Programme (NIP), introduced by the Ministry of Health in the early 1950s, provides free vaccinations to every baby born in Malaysia against vaccine-preventable infectious diseases, delivered on a set schedule from birth through the teenage years at government clinics and hospitals. Designed around the World Health Organization's Expanded Programme on Immunisation framework, the NIP has expanded over time to protect against 13 major childhood diseases.
