Myanmar's Expanded Programme on Immunization was launched in 1978 with the BCG, DTP and tetanus toxoid vaccines, and is run by the Department of Public Health under the country's health ministry. The program has since broadened to include measles, oral polio vaccine and a full pentavalent schedule, and in February 2020 the ministry introduced rotavirus vaccination and a fourth diphtheria-tetanus dose into the routine schedule. Myanmar's immunization program is heavily donor-dependent, and coverage has been documented as significantly less equitable in conflict-affected states than in government-controlled areas of the country.
