The National Primary Health Care Development Agency, known by the initials NPHCDA, is a Federal Government of Nigeria agency established on 10 December 1992 under Decree No. 29 to address deficiencies in the country's primary healthcare system by developing, coordinating and implementing it nationwide. It supports Nigeria's Federal Ministry of Health in strengthening primary healthcare infrastructure and ensuring access to essential services including immunization, maternal and child health and disease prevention, coordinates national health programs and mobilizes resources and partnerships with organizations such as the World Health Organization, UNICEF and Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, and has played a central role in Nigeria's national immunization program, malaria control efforts and polio eradication drive while working to integrate primary healthcare with secondary and tertiary levels of care.
