Get Healthy Information and Coaching Service

A free telephone-based health coaching service launched by the government of New South Wales, Australia in February 2009 as part of the state's response to the national Australian Better Health Initiative, helping adults make sustained improvements to their eating habits, physical activity and weight. The Get Healthy Information and Coaching Service, promoted through a mass media advertising campaign launched the following month, had engaged more than 100,000 people in New South Wales, with participants achieving an average weight loss of 2.8 kilograms and a 4.1 centimetre reduction in waist circumference. Responsibility for delivering the service passed to the nonprofit Diabetes Australia on July 1, 2023, while the New South Wales government has continued to fund and promote it as a chronic disease prevention program.
