At launch the scheme covered 48 percent of Indonesia's population, and enrollment grew to 195 million people, about 75 percent of the population, by April 2018, reaching an estimated 223 million people, or 83 percent of the population, by 2020. The program provides free hospitalization in basic class three hospital beds and exceeded its first year enrollment target, registering 133.4 million members against a goal of 121.6 million.
