Pakistan Clean Green Pakistan Movement

A Pakistani national campaign launched on 13 October 2018 by then Prime Minister Imran Khan, built around behavioral change and institutional strengthening across five components: tree plantation, solid waste management, liquid waste management and hygiene, total sanitation, and safe drinking water. The Clean Green Pakistan Movement is measured through its own Clean Green Pakistan Index, a composite index that scores and ranks participating cities, tehsils and neighborhoods across those same five pillars, weighted equally at 20 percent each and broken down into more than 35 underlying sub-indicators covering specific aspects of urban cleanliness, waste handling, sanitation and water safety. The Index's first phase ran from November 2019 to June 2020 across 19 initial cities, including Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad and Multan, competing against one another on the movement's public-interest sanitation and environmental benchmarks.
