A Ugandan government sanitation and hygiene program, in operation since 2011 through financial support channeled from the Global Sanitation Fund, a trust fund created by the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council. The Uganda Sanitation Fund began work in fifteen districts in 2011, expanded to thirty districts by 2014, and grew again to thirty-eight districts by the end of 2016 as further donor funding became available, working through Uganda's Ministry of Health together with partner agencies to support community-led approaches to ending open defecation and improving household sanitation and hygiene practices across the supported districts. The program forms part of a wider succession of Global Sanitation Fund-backed national programs, later folded into the renamed Sanitation and Hygiene Fund after the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council itself was restructured at the end of 2020.
