Eradication and Elimination Program

A program whose explicit goal is to reduce a disease incidence to zero within a defined area, called elimination, or worldwide, called eradication, rather than merely control or manage it at an ongoing level. Belongs here: a named eradication or elimination campaign such as smallpox eradication or polio elimination. Does not belong here: an ongoing management effort with no zero incidence target, grouped under the relevant disease specific program instead.
