Health Guidance Practice

Health education is the practice of educating people about health, and it covers environmental, physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual health as well as sexual and reproductive health education. It can be defined as any combination of learning activities that aim to help individuals and communities improve their health by expanding knowledge or altering attitudes. The cited article records several official definitions, among them the 1975 National Conference on Preventive Medicine description of a process that informs, motivates and helps people adopt and maintain healthy practices and lifestyles, and the World Health Organization description of consciously constructed opportunities for learning designed to improve health literacy. Public health programs that teach communities about disease prevention and healthy behavior are grouped under this practice.
